The 2021 Canadian Tire Mitchell’s Bay Open was a resounding success despite the precautions we had to take in order to follow Covid restrictions. All Anglers were issued a mask to use during the tournament donated by Koolmask. Unfortunately our USA Teams were not able to come and no spectators were not allowed at the weigh-ins but both days were live streamed and can be viewed on the Canadian Tire Mitchell’s Bay Open Facebook Group here. At the Friday weigh-in Teams were surprised with a sample pack of the new BOB IZUMI’S TACKLE BOX FLYWHEEL LAGER donated by Sons Of Kent Brewing Co.

The weigh-ins produced some amazing weights and a few very large fish, MATT BELZIL – JASON CLAY weighed in the biggest fish of the tournament weighing a whopping 6.59 pounds, the biggest fish ever weighed at our tournament. First place was captured by Team 16, STEVE VOROS – NICK COUSVIS, their 2 day total of 10 fish was 46.06 pounds. The full Results can be found here and the Payouts can be found here. Every year we take a photo of all our Teams headed out of the marina for the Friday blastoff, there is a slideshow of the Team Boats here

We are already planning and looking forward to 2022 which hopefully will be a return to our normal full featured event. Registration for 2022 will open September 30, 2021 on our online registration page, 2021 returning teams and our USA Anglers will have first choice at a spot for the 2022 Canadian Tire Mitchell’s Bay Open.

Below is a small slide show highlighting the 2021 winners of the tournament.
